Committee

The club is run as a not-for-profit organization, simply put all the fees generated are directed back into the running of the club for the benefit of the members.

There are two groups of people who run and manage the club, those you see on a regular basis and get to know, such as teachers, coaches, and poolside helpers.

The second group is the volunteers, everyone who helps to manage the Swimming Club on a daily basis and organize events.

The biggest group of regular volunteers is the committee, ideally made up of about 15 members. There are various positions such as Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, Team Manager, Workforce Co-ordinator, Membership, Swim Mark, and Welfare, to name but a few. The committee is elected every year at the Annual General Meeting in December and we are always looking for new members to bring fresh eyes and ideas to how we operate and manage the club. Without the committee, there would be no Club. If you are interested in joining the committee please contact the club secretary who will be happy to help.

For more information about helping in other ways please visit the volunteers’ section of the website, or any of the following people who will be happy to help or pass on your details, any Committee member, club desk, or team manager.

We would ask that all of you please give consideration to helping to support your club in some way. You do not always need to have experienced just a willingness to support your child in their chosen sport and a bit of free time. Most members of the committee for example also have full-time careers too. The more people who are available to help the easier the work is for all concerned.
