MBE For Ray Green
On the 13th June 2009 Ray Green was awarded an MBE by the Queen for services to swimming and education in her Birthday honours list. Ray is the club President and has been on the committee for about 30 years. More
Our Unsung Hero
In 2004 Wally Dimmack who taught in the small pool and did so for about 50 years, won the BBC unsung hero award for the Midlands. This was for his voluntary services to swimming over the years.
He also went on to London for the main BBC sports personality of the year but unfortunately didn’t go on to win the national award. More
