Heath Town Swimming Club proudly encourages young people to get involved and give back to the sport they love. Many of our swimmers choose to volunteer poolside or at club events as part of their personal development; whether for Duke of Edinburgh, GCSE coursework, Scout and Guide badges, or simply to gain experience and confidence.
🌟 What Young Volunteers Do
Our young volunteers help in a variety of ways:
-
Supporting coaches and swimmers during training sessions
-
Assisting with gala preparation and marshalling
-
Helping with club events and fundraising activities
-
Learning about teamwork, communication and leadership
These opportunities help young people build valuable skills, gain insight into coaching and develop confidence in a supportive environment.
🏊 Who Can Volunteer
Young volunteers are usually current club swimmers aged 14+ who show maturity, reliability and enthusiasm. We welcome those completing school or community awards, and we’re happy to provide confirmation of hours or references for recognised programmes.
💬 Support and Guidance
All young volunteers are supervised by qualified coaches and follow the club’s safeguarding standards. We provide clear guidance, mentoring and encouragement to help them succeed and enjoy their time on poolside.
