Coach Opportunity  

Heath Town Swimming Club is looking for a passionate and committed Swimming Coach / Assistant Coach to join our team at Wolverhampton Swimming and Fitness Centre (Planetary Road, Wolverhampton).

We are a values‑led, inclusive club that celebrates swimming for sport, fitness, confidence and personal progress — not just competition. We support swimmers of all abilities, including those who may not compete but are motivated to develop lifelong skills in the water.

Role Details

Hours:

  • Mondays: 7.15pm – 8.15pm

  • Thursdays: 7.15pm – 8.15pm

Contract: Self‑employed Rate: Variable, depending on qualifications and experience

🌟 About the Role

We’re seeking a coach who can support young swimmers at the start of their journey — helping them build confidence, improve technique and progress through the Swim England Club Pathway.

You’ll play an important part in creating a positive, safe and encouraging environment for all swimmers, upholding the club’s safeguarding standards at all times.

🌊 What You’ll Do

  • Deliver engaging, age‑appropriate training sessions for children new to competitive swimming

  • Support swimmers in developing technique, confidence and a love for the sport

  • Help swimmers progress through the early stages of the Swim England Club Pathway

  • Work closely with the Head Coach and volunteers to maintain a safe, inclusive environment

  • Contribute to swimmer assessments, gala preparation and club events

🎓 What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum: Swim England Level 1 Coaching

  • Preferred: Level 2 Coaching or Level 2 Teaching with CPD 8–10 in aquatic sport

  • Experience working with children in sport or education

  • Strong communication skills and a positive, encouraging coaching style

  • Commitment to inclusivity, swimmer wellbeing and long‑term development
